Goodness! Where Does the Time Go?

Hi Friends,

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving last week! Ours was lovely.  We had two different celebrations:  Our family dinner was the Saturday before Thanksgiving so that everyone (my fam of 4 and my mom & dad) could attend.  Then on Thursday we celebrated with some friends.  Both occasions were such a blessing.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing, crocheting, family time, baking, a little working, and dear daughter and I went to The Nutcracker Ballet at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.  It is our mother-daughter annual tradition and it was delightful as always!

And now my busy season is in full swing.  I hope to at least send out a shout here on the blog once (hopefully twice) a week.  Or maybe I will surprise myself with more.

Here are some photos of some of my recent events. 🙂

Blessings with joy,

Jingle Bell Jackie

Baking was also part of our weekend. Here is some batter for pumpkin-chocolate chip muffins.

A Feast for the Eyes!

9

Hi Friends,

There’s a shop downtown that I love to visit around the holidays!  It’s called Kimball’s (aka The Kobuk).  HERE is a little history on it that I just dug up, in case you are interested. 🙂 The document says that the store closed in 2002.  However, it reopened as The Kobuk – specializing in gifts, treats and fine teas.

Well, today was my first “holiday” visit of the year.  They have a little corner dedicated to Thanksgiving with some lovely items, and a large part of the store dedicated to Christmas goodies of all sorts. Heaven.  They also carry many varieties of yummy teas and tea accessories.  Better and better.  Today I came away with a super cute hat {to go with my new, oh-so-warm coat} and a Christmas pin that reads ‘JOY’ {of course}.  🙂

Here is the pictorial tour for your viewing pleasure.   {Photos were taken with my phone camera.  Some are slightly out of focus, but they still capture the surroundings.}  A definite feast for the eyes!  Enjoy!

Joyfully,

Jackie

Monday Reflections

Hi Friends,

Yesterday was passed in pleasant ways. First, a short work day, then home in the pouring rain which led to building and enjoying a cozy fire in the wood stove, receiving a special package(!), making and consuming some yummy chicken-rice-vegetable-pumpkin soup, light house cleaning and last and longest – working on crocheting, photographing, writing and listing my next pattern. Woot! 🙂

This lovely photo of the Thanksgiving Table Runner is my aforementioned special package! I just purchased it from a fiber artist in California (on Etsy).  Isn’t it gorgeous?!  I absolutely love it!

It inspired me to do a little more Autumn decorating. So fun! How about you? How do you decorate for Autumn? I mostly sprinkle autumn leaves and candles here and there with a couple of pinecone turkeys the kids made years ago. And I might add in some miniature squash or pumpkins. But now I have this table runner to bring it all together! 🙂

Have a blessed day!

Joyfully,

Jackie
