A Wonderful Race!

Hi Friends,

I’m back to add a few photo collages from the big race on Saturday. In case you missed it, dear son raced in the 123A XC State Championships 5K and placed 8th!! And his team place 2nd! What was amazing is that he improved so drastically this year. He had never been in the fastest pack until the second half of this season. We were all so thrilled to watch him achieve his goal of placing in the top 10! Way to go, Son! And thank you, Lord!

It was truly a wonderful day!

Joyfully,

Jackie

A Wonderful Weekend!

image

Hi Friends,

Yes, it was a wonderful weekend! Dear son got 8th place at the 123A State Championship 5K race on Saturday! Woohooooo!

I will post more pictures of my weekend tomorrow as it is time to “fly up with the chickens” tonight.

And I wanted to share this photo that the ADN photographer captured of father & son. What a precious relationship they have!

Blessings all!

Jackie

Hi Friends,

Finally checking back in after an awesome weekend!  Our son had his big race yesterday in Seward and, as mentioned in my previous post, we went down to cheer him on.  He gave the race every last ounce he had and he came in 6th place in regions!  Woohoooooo!  He was overjoyed and so thankful and we were bursting at the seams with pride.  Now we are looking ahead to next Saturday and the State XC meet.  Here’s hoping for another great race!

We also squeezed in some sightseeing fun, family game night and yummy food, among other things, so it was an all around great getaway!

I will let the photos tell the rest of the story.

Did you have any weekend adventures?  If so, I’d love to hear.

Blessings with joy,

Jackie

What a Day!

mtn2
Hi Friends,

Yesterday was such a great day! As I mentioned in the previous post, my hubby {who had just barely made it back to town the day before due to bad weather where he was working} and I took a little road trip up north to cheer our son on at his XC race. It was the last 5k race of the regular season and it was so thrilling to watch him get a PR (personal record) and place 3rd overall! Next Saturday is regions and he is hoping to finish in the top 10. You can do it, Son! 🙂

It was also pretty great getting to see Mt. McKinley and the surrounding mountains again! On a really clear day we can see them from Anchorage, but they are far enough away that you really don’t get a clear picture of just how majestic they are. The photo at the top of this post is of Mt. Hunter, the “small mountain” between Mt. McKinley and Mt. Foraker. Ha! Click HERE to see a photo of all three.

Well, I better hush and mush and get ready for church.

Blessings all!

Hi Friends,

Do you subscribe to any e-magazines?  I’m not even sure that’s what they’re called.  🙂  I purchased the Prevention magazine app for my iPad.  That’s the only one I get, probably because I’m too cheap to buy more when I can find a lot of info for free on the internet.  But I am really liking having this in the e-magazine format. The articles have been interesting and informative and look at those vivid photos!   Anyway, just had to share… 😉

My favorite collage, of course, is the second one of my son at his race today.  He ran a 5K race and set a personal record. Woohoo! And hence, the big smile.  I surely do love that young man!

What kind of views did you have today?

Blessings,

Jackie

Our Runner & Our Race

Hi Friends,

Yesterday we watched our son’s first cross country race of his senior year.  He did a great job and tied his State Cross Country Race time from last Fall.  Way to come out strong, Son!  He wasn’t feeling great {fighting a cold}, but he told me that he was going to give it all he had with nothing left at the finish line.  And he did.

That’s what I want to do too.  We’re all on a journey, if you think about it.  And I, too, want to give my all with nothing left at the finish line.  Why would I want to hold on to love that can be shared, help that can be given, grace that can be extended, kind words that can be spoken?  They will be of no use to me at the end, unless I have given it all away to others.  {Help me, Lord, to do your will.}

Have a blessed week!

Joyfully,

Jackie
